Meet the Team
I have been a part of Dr. Groat’s office for more than ten years. In the office, you will usually find me assisting parents and patients with scheduling appointments, billing insurance and offering support to my coworkers when needed. It’s fun sitting at the front desk and seeing our patients come through the door excited to see us! The feeling is mutual. For me, getting to know our young patients and their families is what I truly enjoy most about my time spent at Dr. Groat’s office.
When I’m not at work, I love cooking, going to my youngest son’s soccer games, keeping in touch with relatives in Italy (love Skype!), and spending time with family.
I have worked for Dr. Groat for 20 plus years. Boy, time flies when you're having fun!!!!! And it's been fun! Not only do I consider the staff my family, I have made "lifetime" friends with many of the families I've met while working here. My duties here include making appointments, insurance billing, collections, etc. The part of my job that I find most rewarding is when a parent tells me that his or her child had the best dental experience ever ~ it's such an incredible feeling!
When I'm not in the office, I love outdoor activities, live music, traveling, and spending time with my friends and family.

My dental career started with Dr. Groat in 1981, and I have proudly worked my entire career with him. I believe I will end my career (not any time soon) working with our new doctor, Dr. Chris Groat! Being able to work with young children facing the fears of going to the dentist is a challenge I enjoy. Seeing that happy face of "Oh, I did it!" is one of the many rewards of working in pediatric dentistry. The best part of my job is working with my co-workers as a team. I also enjoy doing volunteer work for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Our Relay team, “Taking a Bite Out Of Cancer” is in its 10th year as a team sponsored by Dr. Groat, and this year Dr. Chris is joining in on this community event.
This year my husband and I will celebrate 34 years of marriage. We have three adult children (two girls and a boy), a granddaughter, and a grandson. .
I have been a Registered Dental Assistant for 30 years but I have been in dentistry for 33 years and at Dr. Groat’s office for 22 years. I’m proud to say I work with such a caring group of people. Our goal is to make every child’s visit relaxing, fun, and enjoyable! I believe we accomplish this on a daily basis. Your child’s needs are #1 with us!
I have 3 kids of my own. The oldest is in the Army and the other two are in high school. My husband is a longshorman and I, when not working, love to spend time with my family. I also enjoy photography, jewelry-making, and scrapbooking.
